Who these terms are between

These terms are an agreement between you and {{COMPANY_NAME}}, {{COMPANY_ADDRESS}}, Germany, about the iPhone app 1% (bundle identifier com.onepercent.app). By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

Apple's standard licence

Unless we replace it with our own written licence, the app is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement — the standard EULA. That document governs your licence to the app itself. These terms sit alongside it and cover everything the standard EULA leaves to us.

Where the two disagree about the licence, the standard EULA wins.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. When you accept these terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you.

What you get

A personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use 1% on Apple devices that you own or control, as allowed by the App Store rules.

You set one goal. The app gives you one step toward it per day. There is no fixed end point and no promised outcome — the app supplies steps, and what you do with them is yours.

The steps are AI-generated

Steps in 1% are written by a large language model from the goal text you enter. No person writes them and no person reviews them before you see them.

A language model can produce text that is inaccurate, unsuitable or plainly wrong. Read each step and use your own judgement. Do not do anything a step suggests if it would be unsafe, illegal, or beyond what you are able to do. You stay responsible for your own actions.

1% is a general self-improvement app and is not a substitute for professional advice or care. Nothing in the app is professional advice of any kind.

Subscriptions

1% is offered as an auto-renewing subscription: {{PRICE_MONTHLY}} per month or {{PRICE_YEARLY}} per year, after a free trial of {{TRIAL_LENGTH}}. Prices are shown in the App Store in your local currency and may differ by country.

Billing

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Apple is the seller. We never see or hold your payment details.

Renewal

The subscription renews automatically and keeps renewing until you cancel it. Your Apple Account is charged for the next period within 24 hours before the current one ends. To stop a renewal you must cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends — a cancellation later than that takes effect at the end of the following period.

Free trial

If a free trial is offered and you take it, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends and you are not charged.

Managing and cancelling

Subscriptions are managed in the App Store, not in the app: on your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then 1%, then Cancel Subscription. Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep access until the period you have already paid for runs out. Step-by-step help is on the support page.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. We cannot issue, approve or reverse a charge. Ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you are a consumer in the EU, your statutory rights are not affected by this.

Price changes

If the price of a subscription goes up, Apple tells you before the change takes effect and, where the rules require it, asks you to agree. If you do not agree, the subscription stops renewing.

Accounts

The app creates an anonymous account for you on first launch, and you may sign in with Apple instead. Keep control of the Apple Account you sign in with — anyone who has it has your 1% account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, Account, Delete Account. See the deletion page.

Fair use

Do not use 1% to break the law, do not attempt to work around the App Store purchase flow, do not attack or overload the backend, do not scrape or automate requests to it, and do not feed the app text intended to make the model produce harmful output. We may stop serving an account that does any of these.

Ownership

The app, its name, its design and its code belong to {{COMPANY_NAME}}. These terms give you a licence to use the app, not ownership of any part of it.

The goal you write is yours. The steps generated for you are yours to use for yourself, freely.

Availability

We aim to keep 1% running, but it is not sold with a guarantee of uninterrupted service. Generating a path depends on third-party infrastructure — Supabase and Google's Gemini API — and on your internet connection. Any of them can be down. Steps already on your device stay readable when they are.

We may change or stop features. If we stop the service altogether, we will say so in the app first.

Liability

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or physical wellbeing. For ordinary negligence we are liable only where an obligation essential to the agreement is breached, and then only up to the damage that was foreseeable and typical for this kind of agreement. Liability under the German Product Liability Act is unaffected.

Otherwise the app is provided as it is. We do not warrant that any particular step suits you, or that using the app produces any particular result.

Ending the agreement

You can end this at any time by cancelling the subscription and deleting the app or your account. We may end it if you break these terms in a serious way. Ending it does not by itself refund anything already paid — that is Apple's process.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and the app tells you the next time you open it. Continuing to use 1% after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, cancel and delete your account.

Law and jurisdiction

German law applies, without its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection given to you by the mandatory law of the country you live in.

If you are a merchant or a public body, the place of jurisdiction is our registered seat.

Severability

If a clause here turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in force.
